What to Expect

Time/Location: Renewal Church meets at 5:30pm each Sunday in the auditorium on the main campus of Greenville Technical College (620 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29607)

Dress – Renewal attendees come in all types of attire, from jeans to business casual. We encourage you to dress comfortably.

Nursery and Preschool – We provide nursery and preschool childcare for the entirety of the service in our dedicated children’s spaces below the auditorium.  During our check-in procedure, children are assigned a number and parents are given a bracelet with a matching number.  Please note that, for security reasons, parents must have the bracelet when picking up a child.  There are no exceptions.  All of our childcare workers have been pre-screened using a background check to ensure the safety of the children.

Grade-school – We desire for Renewal to be a place where families worship together. Therefore, parents and grade-school children will start each Renewal service together in the auditorium.  However, we recognize that the teaching portion of the Sunday morning service may be challenging for grade-school children to understand.  Before our teaching begins in the main service, we dismiss our grade-schoolers to their classroom upstairs.  There they are led by trained teachers through age-appropriate material that is similar in content to what is being discussed in the adult area.  We encourage parents to monitor their children and allow them to attend the main service at whatever point their individual maturation allows.

Music – Our desire on Sunday mornings is to maintain a sprit of reverence and sincerity in our singing rather than to entertain those in attendance.  Our music consists mainly of contemporary songs with occasional hymns.  Our band typically includes guitars, drums, and piano.

Teaching – The desire of Renewal Church is to be one in which the Word of God is esteemed, valued, loved, and taught.  The typical style of teaching involves taking a book of the Bible and teaching through it in a systematic fashion.  Periodically, we will address certain topics by seeing how they are addressed in different places in Scripture and studying the relevant passages.  The sermon is central to our time of gathering as we seek to be obedient to the Word of God.
