Renewal Kids

At Renewal we are honored to minister to families by caring for their children and rooting them in God and His Word!

Renewal ministers to kids in three areas: Nursery, Preschool, and Gradeschool.

The names and age divisions are as follows:

"Babies" - Birth to one year old
"Littles" - One to two years old
"Bigs" - Three years old - K5
"Kids" - Grades 1-5
"Students" - Grades 6-12

*All "Kids" and "Students" will accompany their families and participate in our main service. All others will remain in the care of our Renewal Kids teachers, in their appropriate room.

VISITORS

Visiting families may stop in at the Renewal Kids Welcome Center to  inquire about Kids Ministry, ask any questions they may have, and receive direction in checking-in and picking-up their children.

Visiting parents of all children not attending the service with their families will receive a temporary ID number and tag  that will allow Kids Ministry Volunteers to identify them as the appropriate adult for the safe pick-up of their child.

Upon arrival to Renewal, all kids not attending the service with their parents will need to be checked-in.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES

Parents should check-in and register at the Kids Ministry location in the lobby. Regular attendees are assigned a permanent ID number and parents must present their ID tag to pick up children after the service. Parents can fill out a care form that gives individual directions concerning care for their infant or toddler during his or her stay. Upon pick-up of the child, the care form will be returned to the parents specifying the care that the child received. If a parent is ever needed during the service due to an issue with his or her child, the parent will be sent a text to the number specified during check-in. If a parent is unable to receive texts, his or her child’s ID# will be flashed on the screen in the main service if needed.

SAFETY POLICIES

At least two volunteers serve in each service area or room. At least two volunteers take a child into a restroom.

Volunteers wash their hands prior to serving and after any feeding and/or diaper change.

All toys are disinfected before each week's service. Toys are cleaned if they have been in a child’s mouth before letting another child play with them.

All sheets, blankets, or fabrics used are collected and washed between services each week.

Any child with a fever in the last 24 hours, vomiting and/or diarrhea, runny nose with green or yellow discharge, or a skin rash of any kind will not be accepted at check-in and a parent will be retrieved if any of these symptoms develop during the service.

First-Aid kits are kept with each age group. Unless otherwise advised by parents, any minor scrapes will be disinfected and treated by the volunteers. Gloves will be worn if any blood is present. For any other type of injury, parents will be retrieved.
