The Blog Calls My Name
The one reason I hate having a blog, is that people know when I am too busy to post anything. I hear the blog world calling my name and yet I can't seem to find a moment to write something that I think is worth reading. Part of my problem is that I am a perfectionist and want to wait until I have something bright to say before I post anything. But this week brilliance is not looming on the horizon, so rather than try to fake it, I would love to encourage those of you that love and care about what we are doing with Renewal to pray for my family this week.
Tomorrow marks our families final day in Clemson. On Wednesday we will load the truck and move our stuff to storage in Greenville. Then our family will head to Columbia to live with Sarah's parents for about a month and then with my parents for another month. During this time our goal will be to speak in many churches about the need for church planting as well as seek to raise the necessary funding to launch Renewal.
Needless to say, this is a bit of a daunting season in our lives for many reasons. The thought of moving our girls at this age, the prospect of seeking to raise a bunch of money in light of the current economic situation, and the reality of speaking somewhere between 30-40 times in multiple different locations over the next two months requires us to consistently trust in the Lord.
And I think that is the point.
Trust is teh Lord with all of your heart
And lean not on your own understanding,
In all your ways acknowledge Him
And he will direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
You can pray for us in the following ways:
- That God would grant us the sustaingin grace to stay true to the mission He has placed in our hearts.
- That God would grant Sarah and our girls the perseverance to endure a challenging summer
- That God would teach us to trustt and rely on Him
- THat God would provide the necessary funding to launch Renewal by motivating individuals and churches to give
- That God would be honored through Renewal Church for years to come.
Now that the blog is complete, I can rest without having to hear it call my name tomorrow.
